Report – First Comp for 2012
First off I would like to welcome everyone
back for 2012 and hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year break.
We had our first competition for 2012 on
Tuesday night on D Range. It was an IPSC style comp with a good turn out and a
few new members attending as well. If this first competition is going to be
anything to go by, this year is going to be hard
fought for the club championship – bring it on!
The competition was fiercely contested with
the best score of three rounds to count.
The only problem was you got to choose which round you wanted to count,
before it was scored!
After the smoke had cleared Mark was the
clear winner followed by me, but only by the narrowest of margins as Scott was
right on my heels, missing second place by 0.01 of a power factor on adjusted
scores for open class guns. All the results are now posted on the Club website
in the Leader Board section. Thanks also
to Mark and Basil for getting that up and running again.
All the new members
are coming along really well. In fact
one of the newest guys, Steven, shot a perfect
score in two out of the three rounds. Well
done mate!
We also have a new Range Officer in
training, Ash. He ran a couple of
details on Tuesday night and has done well.
Both Mark and I are looking forward to Ash taking on more of a role in ROing matches in the future. If anyone else would like to
take on some RO duties, please feel free to come and see either Mark or Frank.
Anyway that’s it from me for now. I hope to see as many of you as possible attending
and competing in our upcoming competitions.
Cheers & good shooting.
Club Captain.
